Other ELA quizzes combined count the remaining 20% of the 35% QUIZ category.

Result of In-class Debate Question: Should students be allowed to open a new tab and access an online dictionary for the synonym/antonym/cited quotation with highlighted word type questions?

After much debate and a vote, we decided the following: It is optional. That is, yes, you can open an online dictionary to help you with those types of questions, if you so choose and if you think it will advance your overall learning. However, if you think your personal integrity or the integrity of the program is not respected in accessing an online dictionary, you may choose NOT to do so. It is up to you. Additionally, starting in second quarter, you may create a list of 10+ words that you learned through Achieve and turn them in for an OPTIONAL 100% quiz grade in the Achieve category on PowerSchool. If you do not turn in the list, you will be excused from that quiz grade. You may turn in a list of words even if you choose not to access an online dictionary. The words can come from the online glossary on the right column, or any challenging word in the article or in the 8 questions. You may want to create a Achieve Vocab page in your notebook so that you really can "own" the unknown words, and not just look them up once to get a good grade on that Achieve quiz. You will hand in your personal vocab list with the words defined at the end of each quarter. The words must be challenging words!

Thank you for your help in solving this problem. Good job, everyone.
